本参考射线底片列举了出现在压模铝合金铸件和压模镁合金铸件中各种缺陷的类型和严重程度等级。

其用途如下

1.1.1便于识别在射线探伤中发现的各种缺陷及其在类型上和等级上的差别。

1.1.2提供一些缺陷的射线照相典型图象，并为合格标准、规范和产品图提供了参考资料。

注1：本参考射线底片共有5幅，放在81/2×11英寸的纸板架内，这些底片包括了在压模铝合金铸件和压模镁合金铸件中发现的各种缺陷，在前4幅底片中，每幅含有2套4个递增等级的缺陷照相底片，而最后一幅底片含有两种不分级的缺陷照相底片。这五幅纸板架均被安放在81/2×111/2英寸的合页内。

注2：这些适用于检测厚度在2英寸（50mm）以下的铝铸件和镁铸件的参考射线底片属于ASTM参考底片E155中的第I卷和第II卷的内容。

1.2包含的两类图片如下所述。

1.2.1分级——压模铝铸件缺陷有3类，压模镁铸件缺陷也有三类。对每种缺陷列举4个递增的等级。列举A类缺陷作为厚度为1/8英寸(3.2mm)和5/8英寸（15.9mm）的压模铝铸件和镁铸件的参考；列举B类缺陷作为厚度为1/8英寸的压模铝铸件和压模镁铸件的参考；列举C类缺陷作为厚度为5/8(15.9mm)的压模铝铸件和压模镁铸件的参考。

1.2.2不分级——对于厚度为0.2英寸（5.1mm）的压模铝铸件，列举了一种缺陷的图象，对于厚度为5/8英寸（3.2mm）的镁铸件也列举了一种缺陷的图象。

Reference Radiographs for E505 Inspection of Aluminum and Magnesium Die Castings + Active Standard

Reference Radiographs are nondestructive testing standards universally accepted because of their high reliability in accept-reject actions.

These reference radiographs illustrate the categories and severity levels of discontinuities that may occur in aluminum-alloy and magnesium-alloy die castings. They are intended to provide

• A guide enabling recognition of discontinuities and their differentiation both as to type and severity level through radiographic examination.

• Example radiographic illustrations of discontinuities and a nomenclature for reference in acceptance standards, specifications, and drawings.

The set of reference radiographs consists of five 8-1/2 by 11 in. cardboard frames containing radiographs covering discontinuities in aluminum and magnesium alloy die-castings. The first four frames each contain two sets of four graded levels of increasing severity, while the last frame contains two ungraded radiographs. The five frames are contained in a 10-1/2 by 11-1/2 in. ring binder.

A copy of the current ASTM standard is included with the purchase of these reference radiographs.
